PLOT

Over 30 years after graduating from TOPGUN, US Navy Captain Pete "Maverick" Mitchell is a test pilot. While he has won many honours, repeated insubordination has kept him from military rank. His friend and former TOPGUN rival Admiral Tom "Iceman" Kazansky, commander of the U.S. Pacific Fleet, often protects Maverick from being grounded.  flag officer  Chester "Hammer" Cain cancels Maverick's "Darkstar" scramjet program in favour of funding drones. Before Cain can officially do so, Maverick sets a replacement flight plan to push into high-hypersonic speed, accomplishing the program's goal. The prototype is destroyed, however, when Maverick pushes beyond Mach 10. Iceman again saves Maverick's career by ordering him to NAS  North Island for his next assignment, but Hammer warns Maverick that the age of crewed fighter aircraft will soon end.

The Navy has been tasked with destroying an unsanctioned uranium enrichment plant, which sits during a  deep depression at the end of a canyon.  it's defended by SA-3 Goa surface-to-air missiles (SAMs), GPS jammers which render the F-35 Lightning II unsuitable for the work, and what appear to be fifth-generation Sukhoi Su-57 fighters. Maverick devises an idea to attack with two pairs of F/A-18E/F Super Hornets. Although he wants to fly the mission, Maverick is assigned to coach an elite group of recent TOPGUN graduates assembled by Air Boss Vice Admiral Beau "Cyclone" Simpson, who dislikes Maverick's unorthodox methods.

Maverick out-dogfights his sceptical students to win their respect. Lieutenants Jake "Hangman" Seresin and Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw—son of Maverick's late ally and RIO Nick "Goose" Bradshaw—clash. Rooster dislikes Hangman's cavalier attitude, while Hangman criticizes Rooster's cautious flying. Maverick reunites with former girlfriend Penny Benjamin, to whom he reveals that Rooster's mother made him promise before she died that Rooster wouldn't become a pilot. Rooster, unaware of the promise, resents Maverick for impeding his military career and blames him for his father's death. Maverick is reluctant to further interfere with Rooster's career, but the choice is to send him on the extremely dangerous mission. He tells his doubts to Iceman who has throat cancer. Before dying, Iceman advises that "It's time to let go" and reassures him that "the Navy needs Maverick".

With Maverick's protector gone, Cyclone removes him as an instructor following a training incident during which a F/A-18 is lost. Cyclone relaxes the mission parameters in order that they are easier to execute but make escape much more difficult. During Cyclone's announcement, Maverick makes an unauthorized flight through the training course together with his preferred parameters, proving that it is often done. Cyclone reluctantly appoints Maverick as team leader.

Maverick flies the lead F/A-18E  within the strike package,  amid a buddy lazing F/A-18F[d] flown by Lieutenant Natasha "Phoenix" Trace and WSO Lieutenant Robert "Bob" Floyd. Rooster leads the second strike pair,  which incorporates  Lieutenant Reuben "Payback" Fitch and WSO Lieutenant Mickey "Fanboy" Garcia. After the four jets launch from the carrier  USS Theodore Roosevelt, the missile cruiser USS Leyte Gulf fires Tomahawk cruise missiles to destroy the nearby air base. The teams successfully destroy the plant but are engaged by SAMs during their escape. Rooster runs out of countermeasures, and Maverick sacrifices his jet to guard  Rooster. Believing Maverick to be killed, the others are ordered back to the carrier. Rooster returns to seek out that Maverick was safely ejected and is being targeted by a Mi-24 gunship. After destroying the gunship,  he's shot down by a SAM and ejects.  the 2  rendezvous and steal an F-14 Tomcat from the destroyed air base. Maverick and Rooster destroy two intercepting Su-57s, but a 3rd  arrives as they run out of ammunition and countermeasures. Hangman arrives from standby to shoot down the Su-57,  and therefore the planes return to the carrier.

Later, Rooster helps Maverick work on his P-51 Mustang. Rooster looks at a photograph of their mission's success, pinned alongside a photograph of his late father and a young Maverick, as Penny and Maverick fly off into the sunset within the  P-51.

The film is a sequel to the television series "Wu Assassins," and the main characters from that programme also feature in this film. Lu Xin Lee (Lewis Tan) and Tommy Wah (Iko Uwais) are friends of Kai Jin (Iko Uwais), a chef in San Francisco who is the modern inheritor of an old, magical combat tradition (Lawrence Kao). After the unexplained murder of Tommy's sister, Jenny, in the sequel, the pals are on the hunt for answers. A talisman discovered alongside her body is their only clue.

The party travels to Thailand in search of solutions, where they meet billionaire developer William Pan (Jason Tobin). Pan says that Jennie's death was part of a wider conspiracy orchestrated by his twin sister, Ku An Qi (Rhatha Phongam), the Bangkok underworld's ruler, who seeks to connect the ying and yang talismans. Kai intends to put a stop to the conspiracy on his own, but his buddies insist on fighting alongside him as he hunts down the culprits.

The appeal of the film is simple: there are multiple moments of well-choreographed combat, with each cast member following Uwais, a martial artist, as an example. However, Roel Reiné, the filmmaker, muddles the action by depending on enigmatic legend to explain his characters' motivations, origins, and talents. Watered-down Taoist notions, which are more intellectually insulting than culturally hurtful, are designed to explain how Kai or his enemies use their abilities. As a result, there is little opportunity to get to know the characters as persons rather than vehicles for their mystical skills in the discourse.

The fight sequences lack cinematic impact due of their lack of tactical, philosophical, or emotional basis. Knives slash, bullets discharge, and fists collide. Every movement, though, feels insubstantial. The film, at its best and worst, evokes the sensation of seeing a stranger play with off-brand action figures.

To make Amleth for his eventual rise, the two participate in a sacred ceremony managed by Aurvandill's jester, Heimir. The next morning, Aurvandill's bastard brother Fjölnir killings the king, attacks his hillfort, and carries away Gudrún. Amleth flees by boat, swearing vengeance.

Years later, Amleth lives as a berserker with a group of Vikings. After an attack in Gardariki, Amleth encounters a Seeress in the temple of Svetovit; the Seeress prophesies that Amleth will soon take revenge on Fjölnir, and that his path is intertwined with a Maiden-King. Amleth learns that Fjölnir was defeated by Harald of Norway and lives in exile in Iceland. Posing as a slave, Amleth sneaks aboard a ship. He faces a Slavic woman named Olga, who claims to be a sorceress. They are taken to Fjölnir's farm, where he learns his mother has married Fjölnir and bore him a son named Gunnar.

One night, Amleth meets a magician who facilitates a spiritual conversation between Amleth and the late Heimir, discovered to have been murdered by Fjölnir. He then tells Amleth about Draugr, a magical sword at the Gates of Hel. Amleth enters a mound and obtains the blade after fighting the undead Mound Dweller. He hides it upon return to the farm. The next day, Amleth is selected to challenge in a game of knattleikr against another farm. The game turns violent and Gunnar is almost killed, but Amleth saves him. As a souvenir, Fjölnir's adult son, Thorir, awards him overseer duties and grants him to choose a woman.

During the evening celebrations, Amleth and Olga make love; they promise to killed Fjölnir together. Amleth kills several of Fjölnir's men, and Olga mingles their food with fly agaric, a potent hallucinogen. The ensuing chaos and the suspicion that the Christian slaves are behind the killings allow Amleth to enter Fjölnir's house. He sees his mother, who tells that she was originally taken into slavery and that Amleth's belief was the result of rape. She reveals that she wanted Aurvandill and Amleth dead; she tries but fails to seduce Amleth. Enraged, Amleth kills Thorir and steals his heart.

Gudrún exposes Amleth's true identity to Fjölnir, and calls for him to kill him. Fjölnir menaces to kill Olga, but Amleth offers to trade Olga's life for Thorir's heart. After a severe fighting, Amleth is released from his restraints by a flock of ravens. Olga rescues Amleth and the two escapes by boat. Amleth has a vision and discovers that Olga is pregnant with twins, one of whom will become the Maiden-King prophesied by the Seeress. Fearing that his children will never be safe, Amleth decides to kill his uncle and jumps overboard, despite Olga's pleas.

Fjölnir, discovering his wife and son dead, tells Amleth to meet him at the Gates of Hel—the crater of the volcano Hekla—to resolve the conflict via holmgang. CAST

Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne / Batman:

A reclusive billionaire who obsessively protects Gotham City as a masked vigilante to cope with his traumatic past. Batman is around 30 years old and is not yet an experienced crime fighter, as director Matt Reeves wanted to explore the character before he becomes "fully formed". Reeves and Pattinson described Batman as an insomniac who cannot delineate between the Batman persona and his "recluse rockstar" public identity as Bruce, with Reeves comparing his obsession with being Batman to drug addiction. Pattinson said the film questions the nature of heroism, as Batman is more flawed than traditional superheroes and unable to control himself, seeking to work out his rage and "inflict his kind of justice". Reeves considered The Batman a story about Batman learning that he must not exact vengeance, but inspire hope. Oscar Novak portrays a young Bruce, while Rick English was Pattinson's stunt double.

Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle / Catwoman:

A nightclub waitress, drug dealer, and cat burglar who meets Batman while searching for her missing roommate; her moral ambiguity challenges Batman's black-and-white view of good and evil. Kravitz said the character is becoming a femme fatale and "figuring out who she is, beyond just someone trying to survive". She described her as a mysterious character with unclear motivations, who represents femininity in contrast to Batman's masculinity. She said the pair are "partners [s] in crime", drawn together by their desire to fight for vulnerable people. Reeves saw Selina as Batman's awakening to his own sheltered upbringing and preconceived assumptions. Kravitz focused more on Selina than her Catwoman persona because she did not want to distract from the character's emotional journey, and interpreted Selina as bisexual, like in the comics.

Paul Dano as Edward Nashton / Riddler:

A forensic accountant who is inspired by Batman to become a serial killer who targets elite Gotham citizens and live streams his crimes. He seeks to "unmask the truth" about Gotham, taunting Batman and law enforcement with riddles. Reeves said Batman inspiring the Riddler reflects the idea from the comics that he creates his own enemies and that the Riddler's attack on Gotham gives the character a "political agenda" as a terrorist-like figure. He found Batman and the Riddler being "kind of two sides of the same coin" unsettling, as they have similar goals. He likened the Riddler to the Zodiac Killer, who he felt was the "real-life" Riddler for his practice of communicating with cyphers and riddles, while Dano said his performance balanced the real-life basis with the Batman franchise's theatricality. Joseph Walker portrays a young Nashton.

Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon:

An ally of Batman in the Gotham City Police Department (GCPD). He is the only GCPD officer whom Batman trusts, and they work together to solve the Riddler case. Wright described Gordon as "relative to Gotham City, to the Gotham City Police Department, to Batman, to justice and to corruption". Similar to Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Trilogy (2005–2012), Gordon begins as a GCPD lieutenant in The Batman, allowing his progression to the commissioner to be depicted in subsequent films. Wright felt starting Gordon as the lieutenant enabled him to play a larger role compared to previous film iterations. Reeves felt that Batman and Gordon's partnership is emphasized more in The Batman than it was in previous Batman films, and compared them to Carl Bernstein (Dustin Hoffman) and Bob Woodward (Robert Redford) from All the President's Men (1974).

John Turturro as Carmine Falcone:

A Gotham crime lord and Selina's father. The Riddler's primary target, Falcone has much of Gotham under his control; Turturro described him as a "dangerous guy", while Reeves said he was "seemingly...a genteel mobster but [he] turns out to have a very, very dark history behind him" and compared him to Noah Cross (John Huston) from Chinatown (1974). The Batman suggests that Falcone played a role in Batman's origin story by ordering the murder of Thomas and Martha Wayne. Falcone wears vintage sunglasses throughout the film, as Turturro felt the character needed a "mask".

Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson: Gotham's district attorney, whom Sarsgaard described as untruthful and "distasteful".

Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth:

Batman's butler and mentor, though they have a strained relationship and rarely speak. Pattinson described Alfred as Batman's only confidant, even though Alfred "thinks he's gone insane!" Unlike previous film incarnations, Alfred has a military background, which is reflected in his being "used to rules and regulations, structure and precision" as well as his dress and demeanour. To illustrate Alfred's physical appearance as a military veteran, Reeves came up with the idea of him having a cane, while Serkis suggested his facial scars. Serkis shared that Alfred was "part of the secret service and then the security team looking after Wayne Enterprises"; his background led to him becoming more of a "mentor and a teacher" than the father figure that Bruce needed. Reeves noted that Alfred was forced into becoming Bruce's parental figure despite being inexperienced, and feels guilty that his parenting of Bruce might have led to his obsessive journey as Batman.

Colin Farrell as Oswald "Oz" Cobblepot / Penguin:

Falcone's chief lieutenant who operates the Iceberg Lounge, the nightclub where Selina works. He is not yet the crime kingpin he is depicted as in the comics and dislikes being referred to as the Penguin. Reeves explained that the Penguin is a "mid-level mobster guy and he's got a bit of showmanship to him, but you can see that he wants more and that he's been underestimated". Reeves compared the Penguin to Fredo Corleone (John Cazale) from The Godfather (1972), due to "the insignificance that he lives within, in a family that is full of very strong, very bright, very capable, very violent men."

Additionally, Jayme Lawson portrays Bella Reál, a mayoral candidate for Gotham City who Reeves said represents hope; Gil Perez-Abraham portrays Martinez, a GCPD officer; Peter McDonald portrays William Kenzie, a corrupt GCPD officer; Alex Ferns portrays Pete Savage, the GCPD commissioner; Con O'Neill portrays Mackenzie Bock, the GCPD chief; and Rupert Penry-Jones portrays Don Mitchell Jr., Gotham's mayor. Barry Keoghan makes a cameo appearance as the Joker (credited as "Unseen Arkham Prisoner"), while other cast members include twins Charlie and Max Carver as Iceberg Lounge bouncers (credited as "The Twins"); Hana Hrzic as Annika, Selina's roommate; Jay Lycurgo as a young gang member; Akie Kotabe as a train passenger; Sandra Dickinson as Dory, Bruce's caretaker and housekeeper; and Luke Roberts and Stella Stocker as Bruce's parents, Thomas and Martha Wayne.

PLOT

On Halloween, Gotham City mayor Don Mitchell Jr. is murdered by the Riddler, a masked killer. Reclusive billionaire Bruce Wayne, who has operated for 2  years as the vigilante Batman, investigates the murder alongside the Gotham City local department  (GCPD). Lieutenant James Gordon discovers a message that the Riddler left for Batman.  the subsequent night, the Riddler kills commissioner Pete Savage and leaves another message for Batman.

Batman and Gordon discover that the Riddler left a thumb drive in Mitchell's car containing images of Mitchell with a lady, Annika Kosolov, at the Iceberg Lounge—a nightclub operated by the Penguin, mobster Carmine Falcone's lieutenant. While the Penguin pleads ignorance, Batman notices that Selina Kyle, Annika's roommate, works at the club as a waitress. When Annika disappears, Batman sends Selina back to the Iceberg Lounge for answers and discovers that Savage was on Falcone's payroll, as is  DA  Gil Colson.

The Riddler abducts Colson, straps a timed collar bomb to his neck, and sends him to interrupt Mitchell's funeral. When Batman arrives, the Riddler calls him via Colson's phone and threatens to detonate the bomb if Colson cannot answer three riddles. Colson refuses to answer the third—the name of the informant who gave the GCPD information that led to a historic drugs bust ending mobster Salvatore Maroni's operation—and dies. Batman and Gordon deduce that the informant could also be the Penguin and track him to a drug deal. They discover that Maroni's operation transferred to Falcone, with many corrupt GCPD officers involved. Selina inadvertently exposes them when she arrives to steal money and discovers Annika's corpse in a  car trunk. After a car chase, Batman captures the Penguin but learns he's not the informant.

Batman and Gordon follow the Riddler's trail to the ruins of an orphanage funded by Bruce's murdered parents, Thomas and Martha Wayne, where they learn that the Riddler holds a grudge against the Wayne family. Bruce's butler and caretaker, Alfred Pennyworth, is hospitalized after opening a letter bomb addressed to Bruce. The Riddler leaks evidence that Thomas, who was running for mayor before he was murdered, hired Falcone to kill a journalist for threatening to reveal details about Martha and her family's history of mental disease. Bruce, who grew up believing his father was morally upstanding, confronts Alfred, who maintains that Thomas only asked Falcone to threaten the journalist into silence; Thomas planned to show himself and Falcone over to the police once he found out Falcone murdered the journalist instead. Alfred believes that Falcone had Thomas and Martha killed to stop this.

Selina reveals to Batman that Falcone is her neglectful father. She decides to kill him after learning that he strangled Annika because Mitchell told her that Falcone was the informant. Batman and Gordon arrive in time to prevent her, but the Riddler kills Falcone as he's being arrested. The Riddler is unmasked as forensic accountant Edward Nashton and is incarcerated in Arkham State Hospital, where he tells Batman he took inspiration from him when targeting the corrupt. Batman learns that Nashton has stationed car bombs around Gotham and cultivated a web following that plans to assassinate mayor-elect Bella Reál.

The bombs destroy the seawall around Gotham and flood the town. Nashton's followers try and kill Reál but are stopped by Batman and Selina.  In the aftermath, Nashton befriends another inmate,[a] while Selina deems Gotham beyond saving and leaves. Batman aids recovery efforts and vows to inspire hope in Gotham.

PLOT

Six people with different backgrounds are presented with  puzzle cubes. Zoey is a physics student. Jason, a wealthy trader; Camp Boy Ben. Trucker Mike. Amanda, an Iraq War veteran. and  escape room enthusiast Danny. Solve the puzzle and you'll be invited to  an escape room with a prize of $10,000. The contestants arrive at the office building without a greeting, and when Ben tries to leave, the doorknob falls off, revealing that the challenge has begun: first escape from his two rooms, a giant furnace and a winter shack. To do. But after finding the key,  the room turns deadly. Danny falls through the ice in an icy room and drowns; Amanda plummets to her death in an upside-down billiards bar where parts of the floor periodically fall into a deep shaft below; Jason shocks Mike to death to solve a puzzle in a hospital room filling up with poisonous gas; and in a room with optical illusions and strobe lights, Ben kills Jason over an antidote required to escape.

Some rooms, through songs playing, coats, and hospital beds, remind the players of them being sole survivors of various disasters; Mike escaped a mine cave-in, Zoey survived a plane crash, Danny survived when his family died of carbon monoxide poisoning, Amanda survived an IED blast, Jason survived a shipwreck in frigid weather, and Ben survived a car accident where his friends died. Zoey realizes that the purpose of the game is to determine which player is the luckiest. Ben, after escaping the last room where a wall moves inwards to crush him, meets the Gamemaster, who controls the game that the Puzzle Maker designed. The Gamemaster explains that each year they lure in players with something in common – college athletes, savants, etc. —and wealthy viewers betting on the outcome, with only the current game attracting survivors of previous disasters.

When Ben recovers, Zoey returns to the building with the detective. The police don't believe Zoey because all evidence of the game has disappeared. They don't believe Ben either, as it turns out he has drugs in his system. Looking at the graffiti on the wall, Zoey notices the word "Wootan Yu", an anagram of "No Way Out", implying that the game isn't over yet. meets  Ben and shows him a newspaper article depicting the deaths of other players as daily accidents. When Ben suggests Zoey move on, she refuses. She reveals a clue to Ben that points to an undisclosed building in Manhattan. Ben agrees to go with her. But Puzzle Maker is already preparing his flight to become a new deadly survival game.

Paralyzed ex-Marine Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) regains his mobility through one such avatar and falls in love with a Na'vi woman (Zoe Saldana).

PLOT

A captive woman, forced to breed mutant children, is unable  to supply  healthy offspring after giving birth to a stillborn and is killed by Papa Hades, leader of the inbred mutant clan living at a nuclear testing village in  New Mexico  desert, designated as Sector 16. Following the events of  the primary  film, the  us  Department of Defense sent a military army to occupy the location and exterminate the remainder of the mutant clan. Colonel Lincoln Redding and a trio of scientists who are working  therein  area on installing a surveillance system are attacked by the mutants.

Later,  a gaggle  of National Guardsmen in training led by Sergeant Jeffrey "Sarge" Millstone are sent into the desert to resupply the scientists. They arrive  to seek out  the base camp abandoned after the mutants' attack. When the soldiers  devour  a faint distress call, Sarge organizes  an enquiry  and rescue mission through the hills. Napoleon and Amber, who stay behind at the camp, find and retrieve  one among  the missing scientists out of the camp's portable toilet, but he dies before he can warn them.  the 2  are then attacked by the mutants, who destroy their transport and steal their weapons, forcing them to run into the hills to warn the others. The  party  is attacked by the mutants; Mickey is pulled into a bolt-hole and killed by Stabber, and Sarge is accidentally shot dead by Spitter's  fratricide  just before Napoleon and Amber reunite with the group. Spitter is killed after  one among  the mutants sabotages his rappelling gear as the others try to lower him down the hill. With their remaining gear stolen,  they're  forced to try to find another way to escape.

The remaining troops soon locate Redding, mortally wounded and unhinged from the mutant's attack. He warns them of the mutants' plans to capture women for breeding  and divulges  an exit route through the mining caves before committing suicide. After the group kills Stabber, Missy is captured  and brought  into the mining caves by Chameleon, forcing  the opposite  troops to rescue her. Stump leaves the group  to flee  on his own before being pursued and killed by Letch while attempting to climb down the hill. Separating from Crank and Delmar, Napoleon and Amber cross paths with Chameleon, whom they manage to kill. While escaping Sniffer,  they're  rescued by a nonviolent mutant named Hansel; Sniffer encounters Crank and Delmar, shoots the latter with  one among  the group's M4's and is killed by Crank in retaliation. While Hansel leads them to the exit, Delmar dies from his wounds after arriving at the mines' doorway. Napoleon joins Amber  to save lots of  Missy. Crank, who is attempting to unlock the blast door, dies when accidentally triggering an explosion of a crate of dynamites that he attempts  to require  with him.

After killing Letch, Napoleon and Amber locate Missy who was being savagely raped by Papa Hades. After distracting him, they manage to free her, but Hades soon returns and attacks them, triggering a vicious fight until the trio finally subdues and kills the mutant leader with a bayonet.  because the  survivors prepare to depart the mines,  they're  watched by an unknown mutant using their surveillance equipment.
